How dare any of you do a running commentary on a swimming race and speak of failure about the person who comes in second or third in the world?
How dare you speak of little wobbles on the balance beam as though they were major breaks in a person`s character?
How dare you speak of kids who are 18 or 19 as though their lives were over once they complete ”these Olympics”?
Watching the Olympics I cannot believe the news media`s constant comments on the ”failures” of these wonderful teams because they come in less than gold.
What are we teaching them, let alone the millions of kids watching, about competing? Everyone is not going to get gold. Why can`t we admire the fact that the athletes just made it this far, let alone are second or third or, for that matter, even fourth or fifth.
Please let us be the leaders in this wonderful, worldwide competition, and admire the fact that these athletes did their best, and not wallow in failure because they did not get gold.
