Marion Barry, former mayor of Washington, D.C., who served time in jail on drug possession charges, has taken on 16-year D.C. council incumbent Wilhelmina J. Rolark in a primary election fight. In answer to Barry`s contention that he has more energy than the incumbent, Rolark, 74, responds that ”energy is in my genes. I`m full of energy and I`m working all day, every day.” The election for the council seat in question is Sept. 15.
