When will the scientific community turn their great research facilities to a study of hate? The three pictures on the front page of your Aug. 5 paper show the effects of pure hatred. Bombing an infant`s funeral in a cemetery was not done by crazy, demented persons. It was done by intelligent persons full of hatred. The killers try to blame the victims for staging this incident. But, for murderers, lying must be easy.

On second thought, maybe hatred is not a science problem. Maybe it is a human geophysical problem, similar to volcanos and earthquakes. Hatred erupts in places like Beruit, Belfast, Tehran, Baghdad, Watts, Selma, Africa, India, etc. The last great eruption was the Holocaust during the last half of the scourge of Nazism. Maybe there are fault lines in each ethnic group that causes earth-shattering results. Perhaps somebody could bring peace. Or leave peace. Or give peace away. Hah!
