Count on getting a lot of laughs out of this collection in which the nationally syndicated Nashville disc jockey opts for music (well, sort of)
rather than monologue and ends up doing surprisingly effective imitations of all sorts of country stars and sounds. Examples include ”My Jeans are Too Tight,” a paean to the perils of hunkdom; ”The Honeymoon is Over,” about a man who married a Mexican senorita and now is remembering the Alamo; ”I Really Have to Go,” about a dance-floor call of nature; ”Deep in Texas,”
about where a Texan would like to put his unfaithful wife; and the title song, about a cowboy trying to convince his wife that his tardiness in arriving home is because the rodeo ran late. The more country-oriented the listener, the funnier he should find this, because the more takeoffs he will recognize. Pretty hip stuff.
