Village officials said the Village Board`s decision this week to buy a second water tower is expected to satisfy the water needs of the rapidly growing village until 2010.

The Village Board approved spending $546,100 for a 500,000-gallon water tank on Lake Street just south of Illinois Highway 83.

A village consultant said the tower will be paid for by the developer of the Chesapeake Farms and English Meadows subdivisions. The tank is expected to be completed by July 1993, officials said.
