The Park Board has recommended the village accept a $10,406 donation from the Westminster Woods housing development.
A local ordinance, states that a developer must donate a percentage of land or pay a fee to the village for a park in order to maintain open space in the village.
In this case, because the property being developed is less than 1.6 acres, the land donation would be only about 4,100 square feet so the Park Board voted to recommend the cash donation. The developer is Inurbia Joint Venture, of Northbrook.
Westminster Woods, on Westminster Way near Interstate Highway 94, will consist of six single-family homes priced from $275,000 to $350,000.
