In your Aug. 7 edition, you reported President Bush`s deceptive claim that Bill Clinton`s economic plan includes a tax increase. Unfortunately, you failed to clarify that Clinton proposes tax increases only for the richest 2 percent of taxpayers and actually proposes tax cuts for the middle class.
The repeated Republican charge that Clinton would ”raise taxes” is an attempt to deceive middle-class voters into thinking Clinton would raise their taxes.
