Gary T. Johnson in his letter Aug. 6 said that a Bush-Baker ticket bumps up against the 12th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

The limitation in the 12th Amendment affects the electors, not the candidates. Those from Texas could not vote for Bush-Baker. The electors from other states could.

Of course, either Bush or Baker could move his residence (before the electors meet in their state capitols to vote.)
