Ben Warren, 82, founder and former owner of Warren`s Turf Nurseries, with branches across the country, died Aug. 20 in Tucson. Born in Downstate Virden, Mr. Warren was a founding member and past president of the American Sod Producers Association and the Illinois Turfgrass Foundation. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Robert; a daughter, Francene Andresen; and a sister. Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst.
