Why is it that anything produced in the South comes under such scrutiny and ridicule? Was it really necessary to reduce Atlanta`s Olympic mascot to
”Bubba the Blue Slug?” If the South as a whole were a race, you would be racist.
Perhaps if it had been generated out of one of the so-called sophisticated American cities, would it be looked upon as clever, futuristic, unique and a symbol of the eclectic, electronic new world? Something that may grow on you? I can hardly believe the world immediately fell in love with
”Cobi,” Barcelona`s mascot, when first introduced. And very few people can even recall the others. So why be so negative over a rather insignificant part of the Games? You seem to have doomed the `96 Olympics four years before it even starts.
