Despite abuses of Asian maids by their Kuwaiti employers, no more than a handful of employers have been investigated or prosecuted for charges of rape, assault, and other mistreatment, according to a report by the Middle East Watch and the Women`s Rights Project, both divisions of the New York-based Human Rights Watch. It found that nearly 2,000 maids fled abusive employees since Kuwait was liberated in March 1991.
