I have a solution to the problem of air pollution from lawn mower emissions. My silent, hand-powered lawn mower burns no fossil fuel, does a neat job and has caused a small sensation in my neighborhood.

The grass was barely growing when I moved here in June, but rain brought the mowing routine up to speed. My contraption soon caught the attention of the neighborhood children.

”How does it work?” ”Can I try it?” These were most often said, but I also heard, ”There`s another kind of mower; it has a cord you pull.”

This mower does its thing, makes very little noise and I never have to pour smelly gas from a can.
