Congress is at work drawing up legislation that would make part of the District of Columbia a new state of the union. This is clearly

unconstitutional. The District of Columbia is land ceded by the states to become the seat of the U.S. government. That land cannot be portioned off by an (imperial) Congress without consent of the 50 states-read the 17th paragraph of Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.

If Congress is preparing an end run around the Constitution to achieve what they know is unconstitutional, it would be an affront to the people who elected them as representatives to carry out the will of the majority of the people-not special interests.
