Frances Lebowitz, 97, who taught in the Chicago Public Schools for 40 years, died Wednesday in Applewood Nursing Home, Matteson. Miss Lebowitz, who last taught at Cooley Vocational High School, retired in 1970. There are no immediate survivors. Private graveside services will be held Sunday.
