Whitney Chadwick, a professor of art history at San Francisco State University, found in writing that ”femininity and making art are always in conflict.” That thesis led her to take a look at 13 writer-and-artist couples in ”Significant Others: Intimate Partnerships and the Creative Spirit,” co- edited with Isabelle de Courtivron, to be published in June. At a lecture Thursday at the School of the Art Institute, Chadwick will discuss the Sonia and Robert Delaunay.
