A gunman wearing a ”full-face flesh mask” held up a Homewood savings and loan Friday afternoon, escaping with about $15,000, officials said.

The robber, wearing a mask that looked like an ”old white man, but not a former president,” entered Regency Savings and Loan, 18300 S. Kedzie Ave., displayed a handgun and announced a holdup, said FBI spokesman Bob Long.

Homewood police said $15,000 was stolen from the bank, formerly known as Republic Savings.

The FBI said there was no indication that the robbery is connected to the 26 bank heists by a bandit wearing a Richard Nixon-like mask.
