Daisy Stone Jimmerson, 76, longtime owner of the Stonecrest Funeral Home, 2122 W. 79th St., and a former Democratic Party precinct captain, died Tuesday in Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke`s Medical Center. Mrs. Jimmerson, who lived on the South Side, was born in Greensboro, Ala., where her father was a mortician. She worked in politics in Chicago for 17 years and once ran for state representative, according to her daughter, Naomi Cannon. She was a friend of the late Mayor Richard J. Daley and the late U.S. Rep. Ralph Metcalfe. In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Jimmerson is survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Stonecrest Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Church of Love and Faith, 2140 W. 79th St.
