– King 112, Gage Park 47-Top-rated King (12-0, 2-0) came up with five unanswered dunks during a 90-second span in the first quarter en route to a road victory over Public Red-Central Section rival Gage Park.

Rashard Griffith led the Jaguars, who have scored more than 100 points in their last two games, with 28 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots.

“We’re scoring so well because we’re playing good defense and getting a lot of easy baskets,” said King coach Landon Cox. “As long as we play good defense, we’re going to put points on the board.”

Jerard Billingsley added 17 points for the winners, Dewarren Stewart had 16 and Leonard Myles 12. Thomas Hamilton, in his first game back since a bout with the flu, added 10.

The Jaguars led 37-9 after the first quarter and 62-18 at the half.

“Games like this aren’t meaningless,” said Cox. “We got a chance to work on some things and all my guys got a chance to play.” Brian Rogers led Gage Park (3-11, 0-2) with 17 points.

– Lindblom 87, Kelly 62-Pat Washington (22 points), Leotha Patton (14 points, nine rebounds) and Herman Spencer (13, eight) led the way as Lindblom (7-7, 2-0) rolled in the Blue-Central. Elton Jones had 27 for Kelly (3-7, 1-0).

– Robeson 62, Phillips 60-A four-point play by Dwayne Carter with nine seconds left carried Robeson (2-0) to the Red-Central victory. Carter (15 points) hit a three-point basket, was fouled, and sank the subsequent free throw. Devon Phillips also scored 15 for Robeson. Eric Randolph had 15 and Landers Brandon 12 for Phillips (8-4, 0-1).

– Roosevelt 77, Steinmetz 68-Roosevelt (1-5, 1-0) had four players in doubles with Kevin Lewis (19), Kendrick Maddox (15), Larry Walls (14) and Bronco Zecedic (12). Shundell Dantzer led Steinmetz (3-9, 1-1) with 19.

– Schurz 64, Lane 63-Tabias McGhee (18 points) and Kevin Ross (15 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks) guided Schurz (8-5, 2-0) in the Red-North. Bradley Brown’s four-point play (three-point basket and free throw) gave Schurz its first lead at 61-60 late in the fourth quarter. Reggie Blue had 20 and Johnny Thomas 12 for Lane (2-9, 0-2).

– Von Steuben 86, Juarez 59-Trailing 36-34 at the half, Von Steuben (5-10, 2-0) outscored Juarez 34-3 in the third quarter and eased to the Blue-North victory.

GIRLS

– Buffalo Grove 56, Fremd 40-No. 16 Buffalo Grove (14-4, 3-2) prevailed in the Mid-Suburban North behind Kim Bretz (17 points) and Cherise Compobasso (13).

– Cary-Grove 87, Conant 50-Megan DePuy netted 30 points and Amy Nelson 15 to spark Cary’s (13-3) non-conference victory. Lindsey Wantroba managed 18 for Conant.

– Dunbar 69, Bogan 45-Tonya Edwards (18 points, five rebounds, five assists, four steals) paced Dunbar (15-1, 6-1) in the Red-Central. Angelica Soriano had 13 for Bogan.

– Dundee-Crown 56, Streamwood 51-Karla Kashub scored 22 points and Heather Willrett added 15 to power Dundee-Crown (8-8).

– Glenbard East 47, Wheaton North 42-Glenbard (11-6, 1-3), behind Jill Tanzer’s 18 points and Val Pizker 14, prevailed in the Du Page Valley. Gretchen Marti had 14 for Wheaton.

– Illiana Christian 43, Timothy Christian 38-Rachel Kreykes had 11 points and Amy Docter 10 as Illiana (12-0, 10-0) breezed in the Independent School League. Heather Sikkenga had 15 for Timothy (6-7, 4-5).

– Maria 66, Waubonsie Valley 52-Beth Jeffers scored 24 points and Jennifer Cain 18 to pace Maria (3-10). Cara Hoving had 18 and Sara Siwek 15 for Waubonsie (7-8).

– Marshall 90, Crane 20-Kim Williams scored 17 points, Marie Scott 16 and Radiance Clark 14 as No. 1 Marshall (13-1, 4-0) romped in the Red-West. Kieonne Stewart managed 10 for Crane.

– Naperville North 57, Glenbard South 31-Naperville North (13-5, 4-0)prevailed behind Jen Korbas (13 points), and Julie Swanson (13).

– Resurrection 52, Hoffman Estates 30-Mary Connolly finished with 21 points and Barbara Anne Cahill added 12 as No. 14 Resurrection (11-5) built a 21-7 first-quarter lead and coasted.

– Richards 57, Oak Lawn 48-Aimee Lonigro had 29 points and Toniya Robinson 23 rebounds to lead Richards (9-7, 2-4 in SICA North). Sandy Kraft’s 12 points led Oak Lawn.

– Riverside-Brookfield 48, Westmont 38-Riverside-Brookfield (8-4, 4-0) won the key Southwest Suburban game as Elizabeth Brodhay netted 21 points and Karen Ferschauf added 14. Stacey Howe led Westmont (9-6, 3-1) with 12 points.

– St. Viator 48, Addison Trail 15-Susanne Midland scored 14 points to lead St. Viator (11-7) to the non-conference victory.

– Stevenson 71, Antioch 39-No. 11 Stevenson (14-3, 6-0 in the North Suburban) rolled to its 12th straight win behind Danielle Mall (22 points, seven rebounds), Tina Stops (13 points, six steals, four assists) and Tauja Catchings (16 points, six steals, seven rebounds). Maline Gooch had 16 points for Antioch.

– Woodlands 47, Alden-Hebron 25-Joni Carbin had 14 points to lift Woodlands (8-2) in non-conference action.
