Lake County State’s Atty. Michael J. Waller has named Mitchell Hoffman, a 33-year-old lawyer from Highland Park, to head his office’s civil division.
Hoffman has been an assistant state’s attorney for four years and most recently served as a supervisor in the civil division. He will hold the title of deputy state’s attorney in his new position and head a staff of 11 full-time assistants.
Helen Rozenberg resigned the position last year.
The civil division represents Lake County government in litigation and advises all county elected officials and employees on legal matters.
