We in Chicago have innocent children being killed on a daily basis. We have parents stealing Christmas toys from their own children’s school and selling them for drug money. We have parents going to Mexico and leaving their children unattended.
We have rampant teenage pregnancy and an AIDS crisis. We have a school system that cannot retain a superintendent for any length of time. We are burdened with taxes. We have priests molesting children.
And on Jan. 5 we had all TV channels and all radio stations spend the whole afternoon and evening talking about one football coach who had been fired. Does anyone wonder why Chicago has all of the problems that it does?
