Troy Aikman said Monday he slipped out early from the Pro Bowl because he had a plane to catch from Hawaii to Texas.
Aikman, one of three NFC quarterbacks, mysteriously left Aloha Stadium early in the fourth quarter Sunday night.
“I was on Cloud Nine until I left the game. I didn’t realize it was going to cause the fuss that it has,” Aikman told KSCS-FM radio station.
“The problem was I had an 8 o’clock flight I had to catch. I failed to tell the coaches.”
Aikman said he never thought he’d need a later flight.
The NFL said it was reviewing the incident.
