A Washington, D.C. company is offering a new dating accessory: a laminated card “certifying” the holder tested negative for HIV on a certain day.

Yet, “It is not our intention to distribute a card that proves a person is negative, but to get people involved in a long-term program of AIDS testing and awareness,” says Carolyn Dinges, of Partners for AIDS-Free America.

The card comes with a $29.95 kit to

be taken to medical professionals who then perform the test.
