Glenbrook South sectional-Jamie Pekoe scored all 10 of her points in a third quarter while No. 3 Maine West (27-2) outscored St. Viator 21-6 en route to a 59-34 victory for the regional title. Kathy Witte led Maine West with 16 points; Katie Fregetto added 15. Suzanne Midland’s 11 points paced St. Viator (15-14).

In another regional final, Mary Connolly battled foul trouble to score 22 points and Sandie Esche added 13 as Resurrection eliminated Evanston 61-51. Connolly picked up her fourth foul with five minutes to play in the third quarter but returned to score six fourth-quarter points.

Pollyanna Johns scored 16 to lead Evanston (12-15).

Sara Petersen scored 20 points, but her three-pointer at the end of the first overtime was the biggest basket in Glenbrook South’s 60-58 victory over Regina. Glenbrook (22-4) missed four one-and-one free throws in the fourth quarter and 10 of 22 for the game. Regina (11-15) was led by Jane Zera’s 15.

Oak Lawn sectional-No. 11 Mother McAuley (19-8) won its seventh straight regional title with a 68-41 victory over Maria (11-15). McAuley took a 31-14 halftime lead by forcing 21 turnovers. Jenny Costello led McAuley with 12 points. Rhonda Moravek added 11 and Anne McDonald 10. Jeanine Winistrorfer led Maria with 18.

Aimee Lonigro scored 35 points to give Richards (17-10) a 55-47 victory over Marian Catholic (13-13). Laura Valente led Marian with 16 points. . . . Kelly Dublin played only four minutes because of the flu, but her three-pointer with :30 left lifted Reavis (18-8) to a 34-32 victory over Thornridge. . . . Queen of Peace (22-6) used a 10-3 run in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter to take a 10-point lead and went on to oust Thornton 55-36 with Shelby Elstner’s 18 points showing the way.

Illiana Christian regional-Illiana (23-2) topped Beecher 54-42 in the final with Amy Docter scoring 16 points and Janna Bremer 12. Kristin Kurth’s 18 points led Beecher (18-5).
