Britain’s Central Statistical Office says women die of breast cancer in Britain at a higher rate than in any other country in Europe. According to its annual Social Trends survey, 60 of every 100,000 British women died of breast cancer in 1990 and women’s deaths from lung cancer in 1991 nearly doubled since 1971, with 42 deaths for every 100,000 women.
