The International Labor Organization estimates it will take women about 475 years at current rates of progress to achieve equal political and economic power with men. The Geneva agency also noted that in its journal, World of Work, that with the fall of communism, women have lost representation in parliaments of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.
