Thornton 68, Homewood-Flossmoor 36-No. 4 Thornton (24-1, 12-0) capped its unbeaten SICA East season by ripping off a 21-2 first-half run for the home crowd and holding H-F (10-13, 5-7) without a basket for 9:37. Michael Allen scored 12 points and Ahmad Fields 10 to lead a balanced attack.
“We wrote on the board that starting Tuesday we are 0-0,” Thornton coach Sam Cameli said. “We have to re-establish ourselves, and to win the state tournament, you have to win eight games.”
