When one compares the president’s crystal clear campaign promises to the economic package he has prepared for congressional approval, it is obvious that President Clinton has been disingenuous to all taxpayers.

Government will squander money until it becomes committed to prudent and conscientious utilization of the revenues it collects. There should be no new taxes. Government expenditures must be cut before any new taxes are imposed. New taxes will fall into the black abyss of government spending and we will again spiral into the malaise of the early ’80s.

However, there is a more fundamental concern related to this administration. Based on what was observed during the campaign and more recently in President Clinton’s first weeks in office, there has been a pattern of deception and dishonesty that impeaches the credibility of the presidency. The president’s character was an issue during the campaign and it remains an issue today. Only President Clinton can change this and he must.
