Responding to health concerns about the electromagnetic fields emitted by cellular telephones, an engineer plans to market a copper alloy shield that affixes to the antenna and protects users. James Plante has invented the “Cell Shield,” a piece of metal several inches long with a semi-circular shape resembling a shoe-horn. He said Cell Shield would retail for $29.95, and he hopes to sell it at stores that sell cellular phones.
