In your issue of Feb. 23, K.N. Traisman responds to Mike Singletary’s remark, “I should have held him (opposing player Steve Tasker), but he’s a Christian kid so I couldn’t.” Traisman asks, “If Tasker were a Muslim, Jew, Hindu or atheist, would Singletary have held him?”
Traisman then editorializes, “such bigotry has no place in football or our world.”
Learn from history! A good portion of all bigotry is rooted in religion. So, as long as there is religion, bigotry will always have a place in our world, and probably football also.
