Attention, moviegoers: After grueling research and months of experimentation, I am pleased to report that Milk Duds are the best projectiles for use in darkened theaters. Have fun!

And now, down to business. Our movie today is “Falling Down,” starring Michael Douglas as a temperamental, recently fired defense company worker who goes insane one day.

And along with his being tracked through his rampage by burglary detective Prendergast (Robert Duvall), that’s about it for the plot.

The film is extremely symbolic in nature, and it begins with an attempt to make Douglas the good guy, as he takes on fast-food restaurant employees, bigoted Neo-Nazis and wimpy gang members. However, after he actually kills someone (the Neo-Nazi), he makes the transition from being a working-man’s hero to a psychopathic killer stalking a child.

Douglas acquires more complicated weaponry, which also depicts his rapid descent from sanity to insanity.

There can be humor found in the film as long as you don’t consider what it really means.

And finally, the hot, yellowish atmosphere in which the whole film takes place does nothing to help it get off the ground. (STAR)(STAR)
