A measure signed into law earlier this month by Democrat Gov. Lawton Chiles, grants Florida mothers the right to breast-feed infants in public. The law amends state laws to make it clear that breastfeeding is not considered indecent exposure, a lewd and lascivious act or exhibition of obscene material. “We’re putting a stop to anyone who would tell a woman when her 2-month-old child can or can’t be fed,” says Florida Rep. Miguel De Grandy (R-Miami), who introduced the bill.
