The recently formed National Party of Hungarian Mothers is calling for state recognition of motherhood as a full-time job and that the state should pay mothers the minimum wage per child through age 10. The party platform also stresses that with unemployment in the former communist satellite at 13 percent, husbands need jobs that pay enough to support their families-and that wives should stay at home.
