Daniel Albert Monroe, 84, co-owner with his wife of Becky’s Catering Service, died Wednesday in the University of Chicago’s Bernard Mitchell Hospital. Born in Cincinnati, he worked as a railroad steward in his youth. He and his wife, Becky, owned and operated Becky and Danny’s Supper Club in the Evans Hotel for many years. It was noted for serving entertainment and sports figures and was the site from which the Lady B radio program was broadcast. Survivors, besides his wife, include a son, Leonard; a daughter, Monica; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Church of the Good Shepherd, United Church of Christ, 5700 S. Prairie Ave., following visitation starting at 1 p.m.
