David Simon, 22, a Deerfield resident and a December graduate of Bradley University, died Sunday after he was struck by a mini-van that jumped a curb at O’Hare International Airport. Mr. Simon grew up in Deerfield and graduated from Deerfield High School in 1988. He majored in advertising at Bradley’s College of Communications and Fine Arts, and he was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He is survived by his mother, Helen; his father, Jon; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Sharon. Two funds are being set up in David’s memory: the David Simon Scholarship Fund, in care of Cole Taylor Bank, 350 E. Dundee Rd., Wheeling; and the Congregation Solel Memorial Fund, 1301 Clavey Rd., Highland Park. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Congregation Solel.
