Thomas B. Garner, 49, formerly of Wilmette, died Thursday in Hartsdale, N.Y. Mr. Garner was born in Wilmette and graduated from New Trier High School in 1961. He attended Carleton College in Minnesota and went on to earn an master’s and doctorate degrees in mathematics from the University of Rochester. Mr. Garner worked in the computer and mathematics field for two decades. He is survived by his mother, Lillian Garner; two brothers; and a sister. Private services were held Sunday in New York.
