The village’s new contract with Waste Management Inc. will let residents recycle more items.
Residents will be able to add magazines, phone books, corrugated cardboard, junk mail and Styrofoam (No. 6 plastic) to their recycling bins.
Village administrator James Hayner said the village renegotiated the three-year contract so that residents with the 90-gallon garbage cart will pay $11.05 per month as of June 1, instead of the former price of $11.84.
In addition, smaller households can opt to use a 65-gallon cart at $10.28 per month. Hayner said that those who want the smaller cart may call Waste Management at 395-2020.
