In regard to your editorial “America: Scared to sobriety on guns,” there is a great deal of discussion of a poll conducted by one Louis Harris. One of the items discussed is that “89 percent of adults favor the Brady Bill.” Nothing in the editorial indicates that almost 50 percent of the 50 states already have a waiting period and that it has done nothing to reduce crime.
Remember Morton Grove. I wonder if you know why no one has reported that Morton Grove has had more homicides than before the bill was passed when it was legal to have a gun in the home. Don’t the people have the right to know this?
You seem to feel that more gun legislation is needed. Guns are banned in Washington, D.C. (except for certain politicians), the murder capital of the world. Nothing need be said about New York City where guns are all but banned.
When will you start to editorialize about our failed criminal justice system?
