In a dismal season that still has 3 1/2 long months to go, maybe Dave Telgheder can provide a bright spot for the Mets. With the Mets’ latest losing streak at six, Telgheder won in his first major-league start Monday night.
“I was kind of tense in the beginning,” said Telegheder (1-0), a 26-year-old right-hander who came up from the minors June 11 and has made three relief appearances. “I didn’t have control of my pitches.”
Bobby Bonilla homered and drove in four runs.
