Helen King Rouse, 85, former president of the League of Women Voters of Cook County and the YWCA of Cook County, died Sunday in Old Orchard Manor, Skokie. Mrs. Rouse was two-term chairwoman of the Women’s Society of the Winnetka Congregational Church. She was a 1928 graduate of the University of Chicago. She was president of the Cook County League of Women Voters in the early 1950s and before that was president of leagues in Winnetka, Northfield and Kenilworth. A native of Chicago, she was a resident of Winnetka for more than 50 years. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Stewart; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. July 31 in the Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine St., Winnetka.
