In the July 5 Tribune, Tom Hundley wrote, “Are the Muslim Fundamentalists who bombed the World Trade Center in February more fanatical than the Christian Fundamentalists who allegedly gunned down an abortion clinic doctor in Florida two weeks later?” It’s incredible that this irresponsible, untrue statement was printed. No Muslim Fundamentalist has been found guilty of the Trade Center bombing.
It is very disturbing to see this trend in American journalism of taking something that’s alleged or even rumored and printing it as a foregone conclusion.
