RWS Development Corp. has opened the final phase of sales at the Woods of Oakhurst, a development planned for 145 single-family homes in west suburban Aurora.
Kathy Szukalski, vice president of sales and marketing, said 29 homes remain to be sold and eight of these are under construction and available for immediate occupancy when completed.
“Most, however, will be ready for occupancy in 60 to 90 days,” she said.
Priced from $165,000 to $182,000, the immediate occupancy homes offer a representative selection of the five split-level and two-story floor plans currently being offered at the Woods of Oakhurst.
Ranging in size from 1,840 to 2,350 square feet, each home has three or four bedrooms, 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 baths and an attached two-car garage. Base prices range from $147,900 to $162,900.
To reach the subdivision take Interstate Highway 88 west to Illinois Highway 59. Proceed south on Eola Road to Village Green Drive and then turn left to the models.
– The Kennedy Group will unveil two decorated model homes at its grand opening Thursday of Pinewood Creek, a subdivision planned for 54 single-family homes on 27 acres east of north suburban Grayslake in unincorporated Lake County.
More than 20 percent of the homes have been sold during the preconstruction period, reports Steve Zoll, general sales manager for the Arlington Heights-based home building firm. “These are the sixth and seventh models we’ve opened to the public in the last three months,” Zoll said.
The new model homes are the 2,350-square-foot Stanford plan and the 2,730-square-foot Bradford.
Eight floor plans range in size from 2,350 to 3,360 square feet, with base prices including lot from $205,900 to $264,900. All have four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and include two-story foyers; master bedroom suites with dressing areas and twin walk-in closets (per plan); kitchens with planning desks; and basements. Six have volume ceilings. Some of the plans have double staircases, one off the kitchen or family room and one in the foyer.
Options include masonry fireplaces, skylights, whirlpool tubs and wet bars. Where the size and contour of the site permits, Zoll said three-car garages and garden or walkout basements may be added.
Pinewood Creek is situated off Gages Lake Road, east of U.S. Highway 45.
– Bigelow Homes has begun preconstruction sales for TreeHouse in the Woods, its new 32-acre development of 220 townhouses priced from $89,900 to $123,900 in north suburban Round Lake.
John Kamin, vice president, said TreeHouse is being developed with a neo-traditional site plan that includes homes arranged in groups with walking lanes. Court areas provide recreational areas for both children and adults, with trellised entrances highlighted by a central gazebo or patio.
Nine floor plans range from 790 to 1,800 square feet of living space with two to three bedrooms and one to 2 1/2 baths.
Base prices include vaulted ceilings in some plans, family rooms, large front porches or patios, entertainment areas, kitchens with all appliances including refrigerators, washers and dryers, ranges, built-in disposals and dishwashers, no-wax flooring in kitchen, baths and foyer, private laundry areas and private attached two-car garages with electric door openers.
Buyers also are offered the Bigelow heating agreement, which guarantees yearly heating costs of no more than $200.
TreeHouse in the Woods is on Forest Avenue, one-half mile north of Cedar Lake Road in Round Lake.
– Builder Carl Roppolo has officially opened Spring Hill, his new 25-acre development planned for 56 single-family homes in west suburban Naperville.
The semicustom homes are priced from $290,900 and include improved sites with city sewers and water, Roppolo said.
“We’re making a strong entry into the steadily growing southwest suburban market, and we were 36 percent sold before we opened,” he said.
A total of 12 home styles include both ranch and two-story homes with four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.
Spring Hill is on Eastern Avenue south of Illinois Highway 126 and two miles west of Interstate Highway 55 (Stevenson Expressway).
– Alan Dale Homes Inc. reports that 15 of the 47 townhouses planned for the new 7 1/2-acre Heartlands development in west suburban Naperville have been presold.
Construction is expected to begin shortly, with models scheduled to open in November, according to developer Alan Norton. Preconstruction prices range from $117,900 to $132,900.
The four townhouse plans include a corner unit, the 1,567-square-foot Prairie with three bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It is priced at $132,900.
The home has a portico-columned outside entry with an adjoining two-story turret arrangement of windows, two-story entry with U-shaped stairway, living room, dining room, kitchen, and a master bedroom with barrel vault ceiling.
Heartlands is at Book Road and 95th Street one-half mile east of Illinois Highway 59 and 7 1/2 miles south of Interstate Highway 88 (East-West Tollway).
– United Development Homes has begun semicustom home sales at Old Grove Farm in north suburban Vernon Hills. When completed, the 55-acre development will have 59 single-family homes, according to Al Goodman, senior vice president.
The Wheeling-based firm is offering 17 plans in its Custom Collection of Homes. They range from 2,600 to more than 4,000 square feet with four to six bedrooms, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 baths, full basements and attached two- or three-car garages. The homes are priced from $220,000 excluding homesite.
To visit Old Drove Far, take Illinois Highway 22 to U. S. Highway 45, north on Route 45 to Illinois Highway 83, south on Route 83 to Westmoreland and turn east to sales center.
– J. P. O’Connor & Co.’s Georgetown II in west suburban Batavia has a limited number of townhouses available for occupancy before the end of l993.
Georgetown II will include 88 townhouse-style condominiums when complete, according to the Wheeling-based developer. Base prices range from $125,900 to $139,300, and two-thirds of the homes in the community are already sold, according to sales manager Arlene Parker.
Three floor plans include two two-story plans and a second-floor coach home, ranging in size from 1,485 to 1,634 square feet.
Georgetown II is on West Wilson Street and Western Avenue, one-half mile east of Randall Road.
