Bravo to Chris Tomaras, the immigrant who founded Kronos-Central Products, Inc. and made Chicago the gyros capital of the world (Tempo, July 22)! The United States is a richer country due to the hard work and ingenuity of Tomaras and entrepreneurs like him.
Today 400 Chicagoans are gainfully employed producing half a million pounds of gyros a week in his plants. So much for the myth that immigrants are a drain on society. And millions of Americans can thank Tomaras for perfecting a tasteful and nourishing lunch alternative. America being invaded by immigrants? We should be so lucky. Opaa.
