John L. Wieczorek of Claremore, Okla., paid a top price of $180,000 for a son of Cryptoclearance during Thursday’s session of Keeneland’s September Yearling Sale.

Ben P. Walden Jr.’s Vinery, of Midway, as agent, sold the colt out of Suite Sixty by Blade. The colt is a half-brother to the stakes winner Seraglio.

The second-highest price of the day was $150,000 paid by Duane Ducharme of Fort Wayne, Ind., for a colt by Meadowlake out of Plate Queen.

Through four days of the nine-day auction, 1,178 horses have sold for $67,770,400, an average of $57,530.
