A high school senior pulled off a rare feat during a practice round-a hole-in-one using a putter.
Ryan Procop, 17, of Twinsburg, scored the hole-in-one on Sept. 8 on the 168-yard 15th hole at Glen Eagles Golf Club during practice with two of his high school teammates. It followed a 12 on the previous hole, a par 5.
“I was a little disgusted when we went to the 15th tee and I just grabbed my putter,” Procop said. The ball landed on the green, took two bounces and rolled into the cup.
“I’m not that good of a player,” Procop said. “I usually shoot anywhere between 45 or 50 (for nine holes). I can hit the ball a long way, but I have a hard time controlling it.”
