Joe Laney, 64, of Clifton, Ill., died Sunday in Kankakee. A former resident of Mt. Prospect, Mr. Laney was a vice president and an insurance broker for the Chicago firm of Rollins, Burdick and Hunter for 35 years before his retirement in February. He was a veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Third Order Franciscans. Mr. Laney is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Lori Brown and Lisa; two sisters; a brother; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Kankakee. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter Catholic Church in Clifton.
