The School District 65 board plans to give its two oldest buildings a test. Mechanical Services Associates of Palatine will perform an engineering study of East and Central Schools to determine their long-range usefulness.

The oldest section of East School, which now houses kindergarten through 2nd grades, was built in 1895 with additions in 1922, 1946 and 1950. Central School, which houses 3rd through 5th grades, was built in 1967.

The study will include examinations of electrical, heating, plumbing and ventilation systems, said Gary Olfisher, district business manager.
