A battery complaint was filed Saturday against an attorney who prosecutes cases for several west suburbs.
A waitress at a restaurant and bar in Countryside told police that attorney Peter Felice grabbed her neck and punched her in the face Friday night after the bartender refused to serve him because he appeared to be drunk.
Felice, who serves as city prosecutor for Countryside, was expected to be arrested on the misdemeanor battery charge, said Countryside Police Sgt. Louis Moravecek.
The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Friday at Harvey’s Countryside Inn, 5400 S. La Grange Rd., Moravecek said. He said the case was still under investigation.
The waitress, a 19-year-old Lyons resident, said in an interview that after Felice was refused a drink, he began “screaming and swearing like mad and got very violent.”
The woman said she told the manager to make Felice leave because customers were angry.
“Then he (Felice) came after me,” the waitress said. “He grabbed my throat-I felt his nail or his ring scratch me. He got me in the corridor, punched me in the jaw, pulled my hair and punched me on my left temple.”
Police arrived at the scene, but no one was arrested.
On Saturday morning, the waitress was treated at Suburban Hospital of Hinsdale, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Felice, a resident of Countryside, could not be reached for comment. He serves on the South Lyons Sanitary District, to which he was twice elected, and also has been village prosecutor for Stickney and reportedly has served other west suburbs.
The owner of the restaurant did not return messages.
