The Community Education program, sponsored by Lake Forest High School, is adding computer education to the menu of courses it will serve up next year.

Adults and children can choose from 20 computer courses, including “Celebrate Writing,” which pairs parents with children to write a book.

“We have a tremendous integrated program, beginning with kids in kindergarten all the way through adults,” said Jim Benton, Community Education director. “We’re very excited about it.”

Starting in January, IBM computer classes will be held at the high school, while Apple and Macintosh courses will be offered at Lake Bluff Junior High School and Lake Forest District 67 schools. A recent upgrade in computer equipment used by students in area schools prompted Benton to offer computer courses to the community.
