The first full season of heli-skiing in the remote Tien Shan mountains of Kirghiztan and Kazakhstan in the former Soviet Union gets under way Dec. 6 with departures to Feb. 28, 1994. Tien Shan Power Birds offers 10 weeklong trips for up to 14 skiers each for $3,750 to $4,250, double occupancy, depending on available accommodations. The cost includes lodging with swimming pools, sauna and massages, all meals, use of helicopters in and out of Alma-Ata in Kazakhstan, visas, English-speaking guides and Swiss mountain guides, avalanche transceivers, backpacks, emergency services, ground transfers and transit assistance from the Alma-Ata airport, Airfare not included. The Little Nell Hotel in Aspen, Colo. is featuring town-view rooms with fireplaces for $215 a night Nov. 24 to Dec. 11.
