The women’s basketball team broke a two-game losing streak with an 82-80 home victory Sunday over Louisiana State. LSU went on a 20-2 run to wipe out an early nine-point lead by the Irish (5-2), and led 39-30 at halftime. Notre Dame went on a 25-9 run to start the second half and held on after LSU battled to within two points with 3 seconds left and missed a shot potential game-tying shot. Freshman Beth Morgan led the Irish with 20 points. Carey Poor was 7 of 8 from the field, and 11 of her 17 points and all 11 of her rebounds came during her 11 minutes of playing time in the second half.
